Alex Cilton, lead singer for the Box Tops died of a Heart Attack, March 17, 2010. At the age of 16, Chilton had a number-one international hit with The Box Tops called "The Letter." The Box Tops also had other major chart hits, including "Cry Like a Baby" (1968) and "Soul Deep" (1969). Chilton continued working as a singer-songwriter having his own career. On March 17 Chilton was taken to the hospital in New Orleans, complaining of health problems, and died the same day of a suspected heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Laura and his son, Timothy.
